Bad Boys of Romance

Did you dare ask, "what's a bad boy"? We all know the type-determined, moody, dark, incredibly successful, and powerful, both physically and mentally. This man is often cynical, unpredictable, ruthless, and aloof. He thumbs his nose at society's conventions and exudes a steamy sensuality, while carefully guarding his heart. This hero spells danger with a capital "D". He's demanding, dynamic and devastatingly handsome. A "bad boy" finds what he wants and moves heaven and earth to attain it. He represents the unknown to the virginal heroine, promises new experiences to the inexperienced and jingles her alarm. He's often misunderstood and usually, his bark is worst than his bite. It takes a special heroine to tame the "bad boy". No simpering shirking violet, she is independent and headstrong. The combination makes for sizzling romantic tension and unforgettable reading pleasure.

Some of my favorite "bad boys" are Rafe McCade in Nora Roberts' "The Return of Rafe McCade", Cameron Quinn, "Seaswept", and Linda Howard's Wolf McKenzie in McKenzie Mountain. Other novels that feature dangerous heroes are "The Waiting Game" by Jayne Ann Krentz, Judith McNaught's "Paradise", and "The Wedding" by Julie Garwood. Nobody does the contemporary "bad boy" hero better than talented author Dallas Schulze. Her novels, "Home To Eden" and "A Summer To Come Home" capture the essence of the "bad boy" hero, showcased with a feisty, unyielding heroine. Sit back and enjoy the ride as Cupid points his love arrow at these masterful alpha heroes.

HOME TO EDEN, Dallas Schulze

Kate Moran finally had eveything she wanted: home, family, security, and a man who loved her. But then she was tempted by something she shouldn't and couldn't have. Dangerous, destructive Nick Blacksone, her fiance's brother. Nick came home to Eden after five years of restlessness, sleepless nights, and unrequited passion. His arrival jeopardized everyone's future, his, his brother's and Kate's. This heart-wrenching, powerful novel weaves family loyalty, compelling temptation, and stormy emotion into a tapestry of love and resolution.

A SUMMER TO COME HOME, Dallas Schulze

The town folk in Riverbend was reeling at the news that rebel Jake Quincannon had returned. Wild, impetuous Jake was looking to reconcile the ghosts of his past, in preparation for a new start for the future. Good girl Paige Cudahy wasn't in his plans, but she definitely caught his attention. The electrcity the flowed between them sizzles from each page. An unexpected discovery and a new found love change Jake's life forever. It's a captivating tale of a "bad boy" meeting his match and succumbing to the overwhelming power of love. One for your keeper shelf!

Luckily, she falls into the arms of Sam Eastman, an American mercenary. Sam's a reluctant rescuer and saving the beautiful bland interferes with his mission. They find themselves running for their lives. The tables turn when Sam finds his survival depends on the strength and bravery of a woman he saw as a useless butterfly. THE HELLION, LaVryle Spencer

Newly widowed Rachael is the pinnacle of elegance, social standing, and beauty-when the wildest, most passionate flame of her youth steps back into her life. Her genteel world had turned upside down when hellraiser Tommy Lee stole her heart. Now, Tommy Lee, the all-time hell-raiser of Russellville, Alabama, had three marriages behind him, a string of fast cars and a boat load of willing women. No one in the town expected him to change, but Rachael vows to settle him down. This classic tale explores the romance between two very different people who are fated to enjoy the tender gift of love. It tugs at you heart as you cheer the characters on and you watch the magic of love unfold.

MAGGY'S CHILD, Karen Robards

Maggy spent twelve years playing the beautiful, dutiful wife of prominent publisher and multimillionaire Lyle Forrest. Twelve years of fear, abuse and loathing. She did it for David, the son who would never know the price she paid to protect him. She couldn't afford to remember the seething passion she knew in the arms of Nick King years ago, until Nick returns to set her free. A riverting novel of love, lust , sacrifice, and one man's passion to reclaim the woman he was born to love. A spell binding story designed to capture your attention and melt your heart.
